Happy Thanksgiving

Michael Fava (left) of Biddeford, Maine’s Sacred Profane salutes you.

I had hoped to get some proper content up this week, but I’ve been on the road in New England. It looks like I’m just taking a break instead. It’s a break that will benefit the blog in the long run—I toured both Jack’s Abby and Sacred Profane, breweries exclusively making lager beer. (When you go to New England you drink lagers, amirite?) Their stories are unusual and/or unique, and you’ll probably enjoy hearing about them when I return.

In the meantime, let me extend a thanks to you. This is an oddball site, with posts about whatever happens to interest me. I might have been smarter and narrowed the focus and broadened the audience, but smart and I have only occasional acquaintance. You, however, bail me out by reading these oddball posts. On this week of thankfulness, I’m reminded of that. Over the years, it’s felt like a dialogue with friends, and I always love hearing comments (here and on social media).

So thanks, you lovely readers, sponsors, and supporters. Not a day goes by that I don’t feel a sense of appreciation for you.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, whether you’re enjoying a vegan feast or turducken. I suspect you’ll have something tasty in liquid form—feel free to brag about your plans in the comments section. We loaded up on Jack’s Abby and Sacred Profane, so it looks like a lager holiday for us. Seattleites, you should definitely look into this beer for the holidays. I suspect it won’t last. And Portlanders, John Harris is having a blow-out vintage-beer sale on Black Friday, which I would definitely peruse were I not in the wrong Portland.

Prost!
